Funding offered by the ERC
Individual grants
- Starting Grant (StG, 2 to 7 years post-PhD) with a maximum of €1.5 million over 5 years
- Consolidator Grant (CoG, 8 to 12 years post-PhD) with a maximum grant of €2 million over 5 years
- Advanced Grant (AdG, Principal Investigator confirmed.e.) with a maximum grant of €2.5 million over 5 years
- Proof-of Concept (PoC), €150,000: additional funding to enable successful applicants to explore the innovative potential of promising results from ongoing or recently completed ERC projects.
Multi-beneficiary grants
The Synergy (SyG) grants fund between 2 and 4 researchers, with no restrictions on their level of career advancement. The aim is to jointly develop an ambitious research project, at the frontiers of knowledge, around questions that could not be dealt with individually. Maximum funding is €10 million for a maximum of 6 years.
